Introducing
Emily Ellaway
Room 17

Kia ora,

My name is Emily Ellaway, and I am delighted to be teaching Year 5 in 2026. I am very much looking forward to getting to know your child and supporting them in their learning journey next year.

I am entering my third year of teaching after graduating from Auckland University of Technology in 2023. This will be my second year at Pinehill School, and I am excited to continue contributing to such a positive and engaging school community.

I am particularly passionate about literacy and the arts, and I enjoy creating learning opportunities that encourage imagination, creativity, and confidence. I am trained in structured literacy and the new maths curriculum, and I place a strong emphasis on inclusive, student-led learning. Building strong relationships with students, staff, and whānau is central to my practice, and I am committed to culturally responsive and respectful teaching. I also actively participate in ongoing professional development to continue growing as an educator.

Outside of school, I love spending quality time with my family and friends. I moved to New Zealand almost seven years ago and enjoy exploring whenever I can—whether through walks, hikes, or discovering new places. I also enjoy reading and recently started my own book club to share this passion with others.

I am very excited for the year ahead and look forward to partnering with you to support your child’s success.

Ngā mihi nui,
