Inspiring active learners and leaders who make a difference

Jodie Kim

Room 01

Kia ora. My name is Jodie Kim and I will be teaching Year 3 in Room 1.  I was born in South Korea and grew up on the North Shore. I completed my Graduate Diploma in Teaching in 2015 and taught in South Korea and Christchurch before residing back in Auckland. All my positive, wonderful childhood memories are derived from the schooling I experienced on the North Shore. I enjoy travelling, tramping, cooking and playing the violin.

In the beginning of the year, I ensure I find out about my students’ interests as it is the door to unlocking their potential and passion. I believe that real learning occurs when students are motivated and curious, leading them to take ownership of their learning. I would like my students to see how their interests are connected to the curriculum areas and find a purpose for their learning. I enjoy providing activities that will help them enhance creativity, collaboration and critical thinking skills, and hands-on experiences that are relevant to their lives. I like teaching all curriculum areas, especially literacy, numeracy and the arts.

I am excited to meet your child next year and looking forward to partnering with you in your child’s learning journey.
