Inspiring active learners and leaders who make a difference

Marg Milne

Room 7

I am a proud member of the Year 5/6 team, and I teach in Room 7. Both of my own children attended Pinehill, so my family has close ties to this kura. My son’s love is music: playing music, composing and creating digital content. He lectures in post production at South Seas Film School. My daughter is working on her Ph.D. in the field of Environmental Science. She is also an amazing artist. Pinehill School was an important part of their journey. I enjoy spending time with my whanau – including my young granddaughter – running, reading, and gardening.

Working with older students is my passion. It is a real privilege to be part of a young person’s journey. Pinehill is very much part of my life, and I have taught here for many years. The values of our school are a great fit for my teaching style and my personal philosophy on life. The Pinehill Way helps me  support the personal growth of the students that I work with.

One of my extra responsibilities at Pinehill is being part of the Well Being Team. Building resilience, a growth mindset, a sense of engagement and belonging as well as a sense of positiveness and optimism are traits that will see our rangatahi through challenging times. These characteristics and messages are a perfect fit with our Pinehill Way values and active learner traits.

Most of the children coming into Team 7 next year will know me better than I know them. I am really looking forward to finding out about them and having a great year working together.
