Melanie Hanson

I am thrilled to be joining the wonderful Pinehill team and

school community. As a passionate educator, learner, and

leader, I believe in building strong relationships and creating learning environments where

teachers, staff and students feel valued, challenged, and supported to achieve their

potential.

Over the past 18 years, I have been fortunate to work in a variety of teaching and

leadership roles that have allowed me to grow professionally while continually challenging

myself. These experiences have taught me the importance of embracing new

opportunities, showing perseverance, and remaining adaptable—qualities I strive to model

every day in my teaching and in the way I work alongside others.

Outside of school, I love spending time with family and friends, going for long walks,

reading, and baking to relax. Whenever we can, my husband and I enjoy exploring New

Zealand’s beautiful outdoors through tramping, kayaking, and anything that gets us out

into nature! More recently, we’ve discovered four-wheel driving, which has opened up

even more amazing places to explore.

I look forward to getting to know the Pinehill community and meeting the wonderful

students, families, and staff who make it such a special place.
