INTRODUCING

Wendy Chatterton

Tēnā koutou katoa, and a warm welcome to Room 9, Year 4 at Pinehill School.
Ko Wendy tōku ingoa.

My connection with Pinehill School began in 2006 when my eldest son, Thomas, began his learning journey here, followed by my two younger sons, Jacob and Alex. In 2010, I joined the Pinehill team as a learning assistant. Inspired by the passionate teachers I worked alongside, I completed a Bachelor of Teaching through Waikato University, graduating in 2020.

Teaching is both my passion and my purpose. I love being in the classroom—teaching, supporting, guiding, and encouraging ākonga as they strive toward their goals. I am deeply committed to the Pinehill Way, as its values align closely with my teaching philosophy and the way I approach life.

In Room 9, your child can look forward to:

● A supportive, nurturing classroom environment—happy learners thrive
● A strong focus on holistic growth and development
● An inclusive and respectful classroom culture
● High expectations for engagement, effort, and responsibility—from both myself and all learners
● A shared commitment to upholding the Pinehill Way
● Participation in the Roots of Empathy programme, which builds resilience, compassion, and emotional understanding

Mahia i runga i te rangimārie me te ngākau māhaki.
With a peaceful mind and a respectful heart, we will always get the best results.

I am excited to work alongside you and your child this year. I value your partnership in supporting their learning and personal development, and I look forward to building a strong, positive relationship between home and school. Please feel welcome to contact me with any information, questions, or concerns—your insights help me support your child in the best possible way.
